As an unprecedented student-run forum for discussion and interdisciplinary thought, The Triple Helix unites students from all over the world with a diversity of intellectual interests and backgrounds. Through the fulfillment of our mission, The Triple Helix offers a unique, challenging, and exciting educational experience for all its staff and significantly contributes to the global community.

At the University Level:

The Triple Helix is Penn's only undergraduate journal to unite the fields of science, society, and law. Primarily through the venue of written expression, our goal is to promote the understanding of the impact of science and technology on society and their interactions with the law. Our aim is to encourage debate and critical analysis of the most important legal and social issues in science through the free exchange of ideas within the community. Article topics cover a diverse range of subjects from intellectual property law, to health care policies, to the impacts of specific scientific research and more. We publish one issue per semester.

Our journal aims to showcase the writing of our undergraduates who have spent time investigating the links between traditionally disparate fields. Each journal consists of 8-10 articles written by Penn students, as well as 8-10 articles written by undergraduates from the 29 other chapters of The Triple Helix. Each semester, one Penn article is chosen to be an international feature, giving our writers the chance to have their articles published at some of the most prestigious universities in the world and to have their work reach thousands of readers.
